Vinedos de Alcohuaz is the highest commercial winery in Chile at 2,200 m.a.s.l. It's nestled in the Elqui Valley high into the Andes at the southern boarder of the Atacama Desert.  'Gru' is a blend of 60% Syrah, 13% Garnacha, 12% Petite Syrah, 15% Petit Verdot.  It has incredible intensity that signifies the extreme altitude however finishes surprisingly fresh with zingy acidity and granitic minerality.  A wine to impress the in-laws.
